Logo Design for United Nations’ COP 15 Convention on Biological Diversity

I believe in using creativity to support and advocate Biodiversity. I designed the logo for the United Nations’ 15th Conference of the Parties (COP) to the Convention on Biological Diversity. The main inspiration for the logo design is from the natural ecosystems consisting of wildlife from ocean, land, and air. This logo incorporates notable life both land and sea, which include: a dolphin, a whale, a turtle, a palm tree, a couple of humans, a flamingo, an elephant, a panda, and pairs of swallows and pigeons. This design uses five primary colors: red, yellow, blue, green, and green, respectively representing five elements: fire, metal, water, wood, earth.

As the Indian scholar and environmentalist Vandana Shiva once said: “Uniformity is not nature’s way; diversity is nature’s way. Diversity creates harmony, and harmony creates beauty, balance, bounty, and peace in nature and society, in agriculture and culture, in science and politics.” This logo ultimately illustrates the concept of the harmonious development between man and nature, to promote the case for what this means for humanity.

I am honored and grateful to receive the Award of Honor, for my logo design of the United Nations’ COP 15 Convention on Biological Diversity.
