Mashgrams is an interactive app for users to combine live or recorded multi-media contents (sounds and visuals) from photos, audio, TV, movie, comedy and music, to generate new creative expressions, which can be share privately and publicly, in order to connect people in a fun and meaningful way.
The team approached me to rejuvenate its logo and branding, creating branding assets including: new logo identity, color schemes, promotional items and its branding style guide.
When illustrating the initial concepts “Mash” and “Playing with Your Photos”, I created Venn diagrams to let each element interacting with the photo icon: including Music, Movies, TV, Sound Effects, Comedy. From this experiment, I discovered the shape of the overlapping areas could inspire the creation of a unique Monogram “M” for Mashgrams’ logo type. I then decided to make the logo typography from scratch, for an original and distinctive look.
